| Welcome to the War on Hunger. Supported by the student friends of the World Food Programme to aid and educate students about WFP. WFP is the emergency food aid arm of the United Nations and is active in the poorest and most dangerous communities on earth. Our programs can be found feeding school children in Afghanistan and orphans in North Korea. In fact, we can be found in over 82 countries and on 110 million dinner plates. Although these may seem like big numbers, they represent only a small portion of those who need your help. Hunger is curable. Unfortunately hunger and malnutrition continues to kill 25,000 people a day, more than HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria combined.
By starting a WFP student group you can aid those who need it most. With your help we can create a grassroots campaign that will show politicians, business leaders, and policy makers that millions of Americans care about hunger. We have the resources, you have the power. Use it. |
