My name is _____________ and I am a member of your _____________ constituency. I am writing because I am concerned about the issue of global hunger and I want to make sure my opinion is noted by my congressperson.

Did you know that each day 24,000 people die from hunger related causes?

Did you know most victims are under the age of 5?

Did you know that hunger kills more people each year than HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria combined?

Did you know that a school lunch which can ensure a child’s health and improve their level of education only costs 19 cents a day?

I believe that the United States government needs to support the international communities efforts to combat global hunger. While current levels of aid are impressive, more needs to be done. Please, next time there is a funding proposal on the floor, lend your support to eradicating world hunger.
